Halldór Johnson, sem dvaldist um það bil 40 ár í Ameríku, en kom til Íslands s.1. ár öðrum þræði til þess að verja kröftum sínum til eflingar bróðurhug og menningarsambandi milli Íslendinga vestanhafs og austan. S.1. haust kom sr. Halldór hingað til Eyja og gerðist m.a stundakennari við Gagnfræðaskólann okkar. &lt;br&gt;<br /> Ég fékk þegar traust á þessum kennara mínum við fyrstu kynni. Viðmót hans var vingjarnlegt. Hann var hreinskilinn og óskaði þess, að við værum það líka.
